Athletic director Gabie Huling, softball coach Frankie Palmisano and Salesian Principal Sister Michelle Geiger at the Academy of Our Lady proudly support senior Gina Escuda, of Luling, as she signed Nov. 13 a national letter of intent to play softball in college at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. Escude was named to the Westbank Quarterback Club and first team All-District in 2018 and 2019.

The Academy of the Sacred Heart inducted 13 Eucharistic Ministers this semester at a liturgy included readings centered around Eucharistic themes. Upper School Campus Minister Megan Noll led the commissioning ceremony and reflection, before each of the Eucharistic Ministers were called forward to receive their pin from Upper School Division Head Julie Boyd.

Students in Academy of Our Lady’s Law Studies class traveled to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office recently and observed two courtrooms. In addition, the students experienced what is was like to be in court on motion day and met individuals within the law field who imparted great wisdom and advice. Law Studies, taught by an attorney, is among the elective courses offered at Academy of Our Lady.
