Sister Angela laid to rest on Jan. 20.

Father Vincent Qui, retired priest who served as a chaplain and a major in the South Vietnamese Army, died on March 23 at the age of 90.

Deacon Paul Augustin, who served for many years at St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Slidell, died Nov. 1 of cancer. He was 64.

Jesuit Father Hervé Racivitch, who taught English literature at Jesuit High School, died Jan. 8 at the age of 92.

Jesuit Father Bert Mead, a teacher and pastor, died Jan. 20 in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.

Sister  of the Immaculate Conception Mary Angela Bergeron was the oldest religious in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Deacon Gerald J. "Jerry" Martinez, J.D., M.Th., was a permanent deacon of the Archdiocese of New Orleans for 45 years.

Sister Dorothy died Nov. 5 at age 90. She taught at Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in Chalmette and retired in 2013.

School Sister of Notre Dame Theresa Dietz died Oct. 29 after a lifetime career teaching junior and high school art and math in several mid-West and southern states.

Marianite Sister Enda Byrne, former president of Our Lady of Holy Cross College (1971-1978), now University of Holy Cross, died Oct. 27.

Father Bouzigard died Dec. 1 in San Antonio. He was missioned to Loyola University New Orleans in 2006 and served as a fellow at the Jesuit Social Research Institute, teacher of Latin American/Caribbean studies and Catholic theology.

Father Schott died Nov. 26 and served as President of Jesuit High School from 1974-1979, and also as retreat director at Manresa, socius and pastoral assistant for the Jesuit New Orleans Province, and also at Holy Name of Jesus and Immaculate Conception parishes.

Benedictine Father Michael Jung, a monk of St. Joseph Abbey, died May 29th. He was 84 years old and had served for 63 years in religious life. 

As he drove down Canal Street, Jesuit High School’s director of athletics Dave Moreau did everything he could to catch every red light.

Sister of Christian Charity Mary Eileen O’Connor, who dedicated 75 years of her life as a professed woman religious, died April 14 at Sacred Heart Convent, Wilmette, Illinois. She was 101.

Sacred Heart Brother Lee Barker, a native of Thibodaux who served for 73 years in religious life, died March 25 in Mobile, Alabama. He was 92 years old.
