Academy of the Sacred Heart 4th graders engineer stable

When fourth graders at the Academy of the Sacred Heart learned that a special prop – the stable at Bethlehem –  was needed to form a backdrop for the virtual Christmas events students at the Mater Campus were filming this year in lieu of their traditional, in-person concerts, they rolled up their sleeves and got down to work.

Using their school’s “Rigamajig” educational building kit, the fourth graders engineered a structure for the stable.

The stable’s completed structure is pictured below, along with a photo of the finished product, decorated with Sacred Heart kindergartners’ handmade hay and holly.

Christmas programs at the Mater Campus – home to Sacred Heart students ages 1 through fourth grade – were made available to  parents for home viewing.

In another curricular tweak made during the pandemic, the students’ music program shifted from playing wind instruments to ukuleles and handbells.
