EUCHARIST LECTURE SERIES continues May 19 with its fifth presentation, “Eucharistic Images and Art,” by Jordan Haddad, director of Lay Ecclesial Ministry at Notre Dame Seminary. Another lecture will be June 16 on “The Eucharist and Human Suffering” with Community of Jesus Crucified Father Michael Champagne. Eucharistic adoration begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the talk at 6 p.m. and a Q&A. NEW ORLEANS CATHOLIC CEMETERIES sponsors its annual photo contest in which photographers (ages 9 and up) can submit their best original photos taken inside one of the archdiocese’s Catholic cemeteries. Submissions will be accepted through July 1. Winners will earn prizes and have their work featured in New Orleans Catholic Cemeteries’ 2022 wall calendar. LOYOLA UNIVERSITY NEW ORLEANS, the 14th annual Summer Institute for Catholic Educational Leadership, sponsored by the Loyola Institute for Ministry and the archdiocesan Office of Catholic Education and Faith Formation, will be held via Zoom June 7-8, 9 a.m.-noon. The institute, led by Dr. Kathleen Dorsey Bellow, a Drexel Society Endowed Professorship in Black Catholic Studies and director of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies of Xavier University of Louisiana, will be based on the theme “Eucharist: Receiving and Becoming Christ.” The event is free and open to all leaders and aspiring leaders in Catholic education and faith formation.
