ST. MARY’S DOMINICAN assistant principal Dennis Panepinto received the 2022 Louisiana Track and Field Coaches Association (LTFCA) Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also Dominican’s director of COVID-19 Compliance and Logistics. The Brother Martin teams that he coached, starting in 1990, won 11 city championships, seven district championships, four state championships and finished state runner-up seven times all in 5A competition. Also, Dominican science teacher Crissy Giacona was selected as one of three Louisiana Science Teachers Association Outstanding Science Teachers (LSTA) of the Year for 2021. This award is presented to one science teacher who has demonstrated exemplary science teaching. She joined Dominican’s faculty in 2013 and started the robotics programs.
