Divine Mercy Parish, St. Anthony Ministry to the Needy Food Pantry, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy., Wednesday, 1-3 p.m. in the Parish Community Center. Non-perishable food items are donated by parishioners, and the pantry is run by volunteers. Those who reside within parish boundaries can pick up food once a month. A photo ID or proof of residence is required.

St. Christopher the Martyr Parish, 309 Manson Ave., (504) 837-8214. Food donated by parishioners is available on request. Deliveries are made to those without transportation once a month.

St. Cletus Parish, St. Vincentde Paul Food Pantry, 3600 Claire Ave., (504) 355-2791, [email protected]. Vincentians deliver once a month to approximately 30 families in the Gretna/Harvey area. Food delivered any day in case of an emergency.

■ HARVEY

ORLEANS PARISH

Hope House, 916 St. Andrew St., (504) 525-2561. Pantry receives food from St. Alphonsus’ monthly food drive, as well as from other sources, and offers weekly bag lunches from Trinity Episcopal Church’s Bread and Fishes ministry and from concerned families in the metro area.

Lantern Light coordinates a food bank at the Rebuild Center, located behind St. Joseph Church, 1803 Gravier St., (504) 273-5573, ext. 115, kagwilliams@ lanternlight.org. First and third Friday of the month, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Groceries and toiletries provided, along with additional services to combat hardship, hunger and homelessness.

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH

ST. TAMMANY PARISH

St. Peter Parish, Little Light Food Pantry, 128 East 19th Ave., Ministry Center Building, (985) 892-2422, [email protected]. Thursday, 1-4 p.m. One bag of food provided per person. “Blessing box” is located on church property for after-hours needs. Take what you need, give what you can.

Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Food For Seniors, 28088 Main St., (985) 882-5229, [email protected]. Follows federal guidelines: Must be 60 or older and meet income guidelines. Amount of food is governed by family size. Food boxes distributed on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Eligible seniors may pick up their boxes or the Knights of Columbus will deliver to individuals within the parish.

St. Margaret Mary and St. Genevieve Parish in Slidell also operate food pantries. Help Center of Churches Food Bank, 946 Ellis Street. Open only on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration/determination of eligibility. From 1-2 p.m., distribution of boxes of food staples to households whose combined income meets or falls below 130% of current federal poverty level.
