The archdiocesan celebration of Catholic Schools Week will begin a couple of days early with “Tip Off with the Pelicans,” a special night of reserved seating for pre-registered Catholic elementary and high school students, teachers and parents attending the Jan. 26 New Orleans Pelicans-Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game.
Special-section ticket holders will begin arriving at the Smoothie King Center at 5 p.m. for a pre-game worship rally led by Father Ajani Gibson, pastor of St. Peter Claver Church in New Orleans; and Father Kurt Young, vice rector of Notre Dame Seminary and the chaplain of Archbishop Rummel High School. The choir from Academy of Our Lady will provide music at the worship rally.
The game will follow at 7 p.m.
Attendees will be asked to stick around after the game for a group photo.
For more information on how to register for the reserved seating option at the Jan. 26 game, please contact your elementary or high school office.
