Archbishop Gregory Aymond will present the Order of St. Louis IX medallion March 21 to laymen and laywomen who have offered outstanding service to their respective church parishes or ministries.
The prayer service and awards ceremony will take place March 21 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd., Metairie.
The St. Louis IX medallion is presented as a tangible expression of appreciation to Catholic laymen and laywomen for their many unselfish contributions of time and talent to the life of the parish.
Parishes with a registered population of fewer than 1,000 families are permitted to have one honoree, and parishes with more than 1,000 families may have two honorees. (A husband and wife are considered one nominee.)
Pastors are asked to forward the name and address of their honorees to the Order of St. Louis ceremony coordinator, Jonelle Foltz, at [email protected] by Jan. 22 to allow time for personal notification and preparation of certificates. Nominations also may be faxed to (504) 596-3020.
