Dominican’s Abby Slattery (10) and Kate Baker (24) leap high in an attempt to block the shot of Mount Carmel’s Ellie Holzman in the first set of a best-of-five match on Oct. 4. The All-State junior led Mount Carmel with 20 kills as the Cubs won the “Pink” match in a 25-19, 25-19, 25-16 sweep. Mount Carmel enters the Oct. 13-14 Kenner Classic Tournament with a 25-5 record. Dominican (16-8 record) hosts District 8-I rival Archbishop Chapelle on Oct. 12.
