Holistic ‘pro-life’
Metairie
Now, more than ever, with the reversal of Roe vs. Wade, pro-life must be celebrated. However, as we celebrate those lives saved, we must acknowledge that pro-life isn’t only about abortion and saving the unborn.
Pro-life is about caring for the homeless who need food, clothing and shelter to live.
Pro-life is about helping immigrants who come to our country to save their lives and the lives of their children.
Pro-life is about caring for the disabled who come into this world requiring additional care for their special needs – so that they may live their lives with love and dignity to their natural death.
At Holy Mass, included in the prayers of the faithful, we pray for all lives from conception to natural death. Our church is continuing to address these issues, so shouldn’t we, as a community within our church, as individuals who have been blessed, try to do the same?
Acceptance, tolerance, love and patience are virtues Jesus Christ himself taught. Jesus turned away from no one he created. He asks us to do the same.
Please join us as we celebrate the God’s Special Children’s 18th Anniversary Mass on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Road, in Metairie.
Our main celebrant will be Archbishop Gregory Aymond. Everyone is welcome!
