Senior Audrey Wild (above) earned Lou Reilly accolades for varsity swimming.
St. Mary’s Dominican High School students Audrey Wild, Ashley Montoya and Zoie Mitchell are Lou Reilly Memorial Award recipients.
Eight-graders Montoya and Mitchell were honorees for soccer and basketball, respectively.
Other Lou Reilly Memorial Award honorees are Grace Hamblin, varsity basketball; Avery Frey, junior varsity soccer; and Kate Thomson, varsity soccer.
The Lou Reilly Memorial Awards are presented to athletes who continually improved their skills and who listened to their coaches and teammates. Recipients are recognized for encouraging those playing while she is not in the game, and, when playing, gives her full effort at each moment.
Student-athletes have a nominating vote in the selection of the award, while the final decisions are left to the discretion of the coaches.
Other Dominican students recognized for academics while being athletes incude: (from left) Layton Perkins (soccer), Grace Hamblin (basketball), McKenzie Grundmeyer, (soccer) and Kate Thomson (soccer) were selected to the 2020-21 Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) All-Academic Team.
Also winning the Lou Reilly award were, from left: Cristin Angelo (junior varsity softball); Gracee Reeves (varsity softball); Sahithi Koneru (golf); and Mary Parker Whisnant (tennis).
Ella Pitisci received the Lou Reilly award
for eighth grade track and field.
