Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
Merry Christmas!
As we celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus, I invite you to reflect on two special thoughts this Christmas season.
In this year of the National Eucharistic Revival, let us reflect on the whole Paschal Mystery: beginning with Jesus’ birth through his life, death, Resurrection, and Ascension into heaven. Let us remember that it is through Jesus giving of himself as the perfect gift that we may grow closer to him in this life and prepare for eternal life.
As we celebrate the birth of Christ, the Prince of Peace, let us pray for peace in the war-torn areas of our world. As we pray for those who are suffering, let us not forget to pray for peace in our hearts, in our families and in our local communities. We pray that we may be peacemakers of our time.
May the celebration of Christ’s birth bring you new hope and peace this Christmas and throughout 2024.
