Chapel at Ozanam Inn ready to use

Archbishop Gregory Aymond celebrated a Mass May 4 to bless the chapel at Ozanam Inn’s new site, 2239 Poydras St., New Orleans.


Deacon Richard Eason, who coordinates religious services at Ozanam Inn, assisted Archbishop Aymond as he sprinkled holy water on the space and attendees. Archbishop Aymond said, like the Lord, Ozanam Inn gives great care to the homeless and those in need. The chapel, a sacred space that’s the “heart” of the inn, will be a respite for those seeking the Lord, who will be present to show them love. Though small in size (28 seats), its importance at the inn, as the heart is in the human body, is significant. Kevin Colomb, vice president of Ozanam Inn’s board, did the first reading and responsorial psalm.

Director Clarence Adams was appreciative of the archbishop’s blessing and support of the inn that now serves men and women.
