This is a letter of gratitude for the faithful. Who do you think of when you think of a person of faith?
When I asked my daughters this question, even though they are surrounded with faithful people, both identified the same person in their lives, and I wholeheartedly feel the same.
For our family, the most faithful person is our patriarch, our young-at-heart papa.
First and foremost, his legacy is one of faithfulness to the Lord and his family. This is the man who carries us, the “wind beneath our wings.” His faithfulness is exhibited in all the sacrifices he unselfishly makes every day for his family, for a better life for all of us.
As a family man, he instilled in us the utmost importance of faith, day in and day out. He exemplified a life of faithfulness of God’s will. Family always comes first, and family time matters. He taught us compassion for all.
This generous man gives of himself not just to his family, but to others, too. He instilled in us a life of gratitude:
Therefore, we extend our gratitude to the Lord above for this man we are blessed to call ours.
The Lord is with us every day, through the mundane, through the wonderful, through the suffering and through the celebrations of life. Great is his faithfulness. Today and every day, overflowing with gratitude for his faithfulness and his image in our earthly father.
Now, when you encounter a person of faith or think of a person of faith, express gratitude for this constant in this ever-changing world. This exemplifies God’s steadfastness in spite of our human imperfections or our circumstances.
We are forever indebted to our man of faith for his ongoing support, no matter what, in this life.
Lord, hear our prayers. Through life, we face many trials which are a test of our faith. Remind us that faith grows when it is tested. Let our life be a journey of ever-increasing faith. Great is thy faithfulness, especially our fathers who are made in the image of God. Help us to continue to create a legacy of faith that continues from one generation to the next.
