Two relics of St. Anthony of Padua will visit the Archdiocese of New Orleans for the first time from Saturday, Dec. 2 through Sunday, Dec. 10.
A Portuguese Catholic priest and friar of the Franciscan Order, St. Anthony lived from 1195-1231. He is famously known as the patron saint of lost articles.
Veneration dates and times for the relics at other churches in the Archdiocese of New Orleans are as follows:
Dec. 3, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Dec. 4, 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m., St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Ave., New Orleans.
Dec. 5, 9:30-11:30 a.m., Poor Clare Monastery, 720 Henry Clay Ave., New Orleans.
Dec. 5, 5-6 p.m., St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6828 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans.
Dec. 6, 6-7 p.m., St. Theresa of Avila Church, 1401 Erato St., New Orleans.
Dec. 8, 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Holy Spirit Church, 6201 Stratford Place, New Orleans.
Dec. 9, 1-6 p.m., Basilica of St. Stephen, 1025 Napoleon Ave., New Orleans.
Dec. 10, 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Divine Mercy Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy., Kenner.
