Families at St. Rita School in Harahan donated a whopping 4,956 canned goods for donation to the parish’s local food pantry during the 2017 “Souper Bowl,” a food collection drive that takes place in the weeks leading up to Super Bowl Sunday. This anti-hunger drive is a joint effort of four parish ministries including St. Rita Home and School Association, St. Vincent DePaul, Knights of Columbus and the St. Rita School Student Council. Those in need of food can apply for assistance at the pantry, located in the rear parking lot of the St. Rita KC Hall, 375 Oak St in Harahan, on Thursdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
